The Cernavodă nuclear reactors may not restart until mid-October due to declining Danube water levels, according to Cristian Bușoi from the Ministry of Energy. Current forecasts indicate insufficient water levels for safe operation. In the meantime, electricity shortages are being compensated mainly through imports and maximum operation of other energy sources, including solar and wind. Bușoi emphasized the importance of backup plans and committees prepared for various situations.
