Romania has the highest rental price increase in the EU, with a 41.2% rise in Q2 2026 compared to 2025. Overall, EU housing prices rose by 4.7% in the same period. While rental prices increased across all EU countries, Romania led the way, followed by Croatia and Slovenia. In contrast, Finland and France saw declines in housing prices. Romania also boasts the highest homeownership rate in the EU, with 94% of its population owning their homes in 2024.
