Burg-Hostel, the oldest youth hostel in Romania, is closing after 25 years due to a significant rent increase. The president of the Sighișoara Educational Center expressed gratitude to all who contributed to its legacy. Despite the closure, the spirit of youth hostelling and community engagement will continue in a new form. The hostel was not just a place to stay but a hub for cultural exchange and social values, emphasizing respect and understanding among diverse groups. Its closure comes just before the ProEtnica Intercultural Festival, which it traditionally supported.
