Bucharest's Bălcescu and Magheru boulevards will undergo redevelopment through an international design competition organized with the Romanian Architects' Order. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu emphasized the importance of selecting the best solution from multiple competing firms to ensure quality. The project aims to revitalize the area, making it greener and more pedestrian-friendly, while also enhancing social and cultural life. Public consultation will guide the design theme, with feedback collected through surveys and discussions with local stakeholders. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to increase the area's economic attractiveness and improve urban mobility. Future competitions are planned for other central areas of the city.
