Rezolv Energy has launched Phase 1 of the VIFOR wind farm in Buzău, Romania, marking a significant milestone in the country's renewable energy sector. With an installed capacity of 192 MW, it is the largest wind project in Romania in the last decade. Upon completion of Phase 2 in 2027, VIFOR will reach 461 MW, making it one of the largest onshore wind farms in Europe. The project includes 30 Vestas turbines, each with a capacity of 6.4 MW. Once fully operational, VIFOR will supply electricity to over 270,000 households and reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 540,000 tons annually. The project received financing of up to €291 million from a consortium of eight financial institutions and has secured long-term power purchase agreements with several companies. This development is crucial for Romania's energy transition, aiming for 7.3 GW of wind capacity by 2030.
