The largest tram depot in Galați, over 50 years old, is undergoing modernization, announced the mayor Ionuț Pucheanu. The project includes track restoration, workshop upgrades, and a washing station, funded by European grants totaling 63 million euros. The modernization aims to enhance the depot's facilities and infrastructure, including new water and lighting networks. Additionally, 3.7 km of tram track will be rehabilitated, and various workshops will be constructed or upgraded. The project also encompasses improvements to pedestrian paths and road infrastructure within the depot area.
