Qantas plans to launch the world's longest non-stop commercial flight in October 2027, connecting Sydney and London. Passengers will experience a journey of up to 22 hours over 17,000 kilometers. The airline is developing special Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft with fewer seats and wellness zones for exercise. This project, named "Project Sunrise," aims to enhance passenger comfort and reduce travel time by eliminating layovers. The first aircraft is set to be delivered in April 2027, following a successful test flight lasting over 24 hours. Qantas also plans a direct Sydney-New York route by mid-2028.
