Cel mai lung pod suspendat din lume va lega Sicilia de Italia continentală. Costă 13,4 miliarde de euro

Italy is set to construct the world's longest suspension bridge, spanning 3,666 meters, connecting Sicily to Calabria. The project, costing approximately €13.4 billion, aims to withstand earthquakes of up to 7.1 magnitude. It will feature six lanes for vehicles and two railway lines, allowing for significant traffic capacity. The bridge's two towers will rise nearly 400 meters, surpassing the Empire State Building. Designed for a lifespan of around 200 years, it will provide a permanent transport link, replacing current ferry services. The project includes extensive auxiliary works to integrate with existing infrastructure.
