SolarStratos has been officially recognized by the FAI as the highest-flying solar-electric crewed aircraft, achieving 9,640 meters in 2025. The record was confirmed after extensive verification and certification. Pilot Raphael Domjan received the Louis Bleriot medal for exceptional aeronautical achievements. This flight surpassed the previous record of 9,235 meters set by Solar Impulse in 2010. The project, initiated in 2015, aims to reach the stratosphere without fossil fuels, marking a significant milestone in electric and solar flight.
