CEC Bank has received the motivated decision from the Competition Council regarding alleged collusion in setting ROBOR rates, which it plans to contest in court. The bank was fined 332.98 million lei as part of a total of 3.73 billion lei in penalties imposed on ten banks for coordinating behavior in the fixing process. CEC Bank firmly denies the accusations and emphasizes its compliance with legal standards. Other banks, including Banca Transilvania and Raiffeisen Bank, also intend to challenge the sanctions. The banks have 60 days to propose measures to eliminate anti-competitive practices, and the decision can be appealed within 30 days.
