Ceaiul și cafeaua pot influența sănătatea oaselor. Ce arată un nou studiu despre consumul lor
A study from Australian researchers indicates that regular tea consumption may enhance bone mineral density in older women, while high coffee intake could have the opposite effect. The research involved nearly 9,700 women over 65 in the U.S., analyzing their tea and coffee habits over about ten years. Results showed that women who regularly consumed tea had significantly higher hip bone density. The potential benefit may be linked to catechins in tea that support bone tissue formation. However, the study does not prove that tea prevents osteoporosis. Conversely, women drinking over five cups of coffee daily had lower bone density, particularly if they also consumed high alcohol levels. Osteoporosis is a major concern post-menopause, and while tea may support bone health, it cannot replace essential calcium and vitamin D intake. The study's limitations include a predominantly white female sample, suggesting further research is needed.
