Cea mai zgomotoasă pasăre din lume scoate sunete la fel de puternice ca o ambulanță. Atinge 125 de decibeli • Newsweek România
The white bellbird is recognized as the loudest bird in the world, reaching sound levels of 125 decibels during courtship. This discovery was made by biologists Jeffrey Podos and Mario Cohn-Haft in the Amazon rainforest, where they recorded the bird's calls. The white bellbird surpassed the previous record holder, the screaming piha, by 15 decibels. Its calls are comparable to the sound of ambulance sirens and can be painful for human ears. The intense vocalizations are part of a mating ritual, pushing the birds to their physical limits, as louder calls result in shorter songs.
