Romania loses over 560 million cubic meters of drinking water annually due to distribution network inefficiencies, exacerbated by drought conditions. At ExpoApa 2026, a new platform called G-DEPLOY was introduced to help water operators detect and reduce these losses. This advanced technology allows for efficient planning of sensor installations to monitor water loss. The issue of non-revenue water, which accounts for 47% of total water, is critical, prompting calls for better resource management. Additionally, industrial wastewater recovery presents an opportunity for companies to treat and reuse water, thus lowering operational costs.
