Hidroelectrica has recorded its lowest production ever for a working day, reaching only 242 MW. This is significantly lower than its installed capacity of 6,400 MW, indicating a mere 3-4% utilization. The low output is attributed to high solar energy contributions during sunny hours and low river flows, which limit water reserves for future needs. Consequently, thermal power plants are operating at higher levels than Hydroelectrica, with gas plants averaging around 703 MW. The shift in energy dynamics has led to a reliance on thermal and solar sources for daytime load balancing, while hydro plants are primarily used for frequency regulation and evening demand.
