Romania's international reserves decreased significantly in September, primarily due to public debt payments. The reserves fell to €72.34 billion from €77.63 billion in August, marking a 7.4% decline. The central bank reported that public debt service in foreign currency consumed about €2.68 billion, contributing to the overall outflows of €8.1 billion, while inflows were only €3.3 billion. The gold reserves remained stable at 103.6 tons, valued at €12.28 billion. Upcoming payments in October for public debt are estimated at €350 million.
