Cea mai mare instalaţie de captare a carbonului din Europa a fost inaugurată luni în Ţările de Jos

The largest carbon capture facility in Europe, developed by Yara International, was inaugurated in the Netherlands. Located in Sluiskil, it aims to reduce CO2 emissions from one of Europe's largest fertilizer plants and will transport captured carbon to Norway. Starting in 2026, the facility will capture and liquefy up to 800,000 tons of CO2 annually, storing it 2.6 km under the seabed. Yara expects to eliminate around 12 million tons of CO2 over 15 years. The project is seen as a viable solution for industrial emissions, although carbon capture technology has faced challenges in Europe due to commercial viability concerns and environmental opposition.
