An ancient city, lost to time, is revived in Rome with the unveiling of a monumental fresco and an impressive mosaic. These artworks, discovered around 30 years ago, are now accessible to the public for the first time. The fresco, dating back to the 1st century AD, depicts a fortified port city with well-preserved colors. It is considered the largest mural of its kind from Ancient Rome, though the city's identity remains unknown. The mosaic, approximately 15 meters high, showcases architectural elements and figures across four levels. Public access begins this month, with limited group sizes, as specialists monitor environmental impacts before a broader opening.
