Cea mai mare fabrică de penicilină din Europa riscă să se închidă. Prețurile reduse la antibioticele chinezești atacă industria

The declining prices of Chinese antibiotics pose a threat to European industries, particularly the last major penicillin factory in Austria, which faces potential closure. European buyers are increasingly opting for cheaper Chinese products, impacting local production. Governments are concerned about costs, as lower prices benefit public health programs but jeopardize the Kundl factory's operations. The share of Chinese imports in the EU's penicillin market has surged from 44% in 2019 to 86% last year. The pandemic highlighted Europe's reliance on Asian pharmaceutical imports, prompting the EU to approve funding to boost production capacity at the Kundl facility.
