He highlighted the challenges Romania faces in reducing its deficit while adopting this law, which he believes will not satisfy either public employees or the European Commission. Băsescu noted that the situation is well-known in Brussels, where officials are closely monitoring Romania's ability to meet its deficit objectives. He emphasized that the Salary Law is a crucial milestone in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, and failure to adopt it by the end of August could result in a loss of 770 million euros for Romania.
