During his first press conference, he emphasized the importance of adhering to Romania's budget commitments and acknowledged the fragility of the fiscal situation. Niculescu mentioned that the government will analyze budget figures until the end of the year and expressed a general reluctance to introduce new taxes. His cabinet includes both PSD ministers and technocrats, and he secured 280 votes during the parliamentary investiture, exceeding the required minimum.
