The interim Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău, discussed the insolvency of Petrotel Lukoil, highlighting its potential for both positive and negative outcomes. He emphasized the need for solutions to the unique challenges faced by the refinery, which has been operating intermittently due to sanctions. The tribunal has initiated insolvency proceedings, appointing a provisional administrator. Darău noted that while insolvency can protect employees and assets in the short term, it also limits state influence over the company. He stressed the strategic importance of Petrotel for Romania's fuel supply.
