Interim Defense Minister Radu Miruță discussed the detonation of the Pârjoaia rock to redirect more water from the Danube to the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. This operation, suggested by water specialists, aimed to balance water flow and prevent reactor shutdowns during drought. The military assisted in the detonation, which was successful, resulting in a 4 cm increase in water levels at Cernavodă. Other solutions are being considered, including submerging barges to create additional barriers to direct water flow. Miruță emphasized the need to revive a stalled project to enhance water levels in the area.
