Cristina Păun from ACUE highlighted that until March 31, consumers will pay the lower of the regulated price or contract price, with no significant price hikes expected this winter. However, post-March 31, market liquidity is lacking, making future price signals unclear. Păun suggested that the government should enhance market liquidity and provide targeted support for vulnerable consumers. Existing mechanisms for electricity support could be adapted for gas, and improvements in consumer information are necessary. Additionally, payment plans for annual costs could be introduced to ease financial burdens throughout the year.
