Following the fare reduction to 1 leu for 24 hours, Arad's public transport saw a 77% increase in ticket sales in September compared to 2025. The total number of tickets and subscriptions sold rose from 53,454 to 93,992, marking a 75.84% increase. The number of journeys doubled, reaching 798,963 this year. Since August 1, Arad offers the cheapest public transport in Romania, with a ticket valid for 24 hours allowing multiple trips. Previously, tickets cost 4.5 lei for 90 minutes, while weekly and monthly subscriptions have also significantly decreased in price.
