The interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, highlighted a significant blockage at the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) regarding the potential dismissal of its director, Elena Mateescu. Buzoianu stated that the ANM's Board of Directors is non-functional due to a lack of quorum, preventing any decisions from being made. She pointed out that attempts to fill board positions have been hindered by the Agency for the Management of State Enterprises and Public Institutions (AMEPIP). Buzoianu has submitted multiple proposals for interim board members, but they have been rejected. She warned that the ANM could face serious issues if the situation remains unresolved, including budget approval delays. Buzoianu has called for Mateescu's resignation following allegations of improper expenditures from the agency's budget, which Mateescu has denied, claiming she is not directly involved in the issues raised.
