Archaeologists in Turkey have uncovered a 3,400-year-old fragment of the Treaty of Kadesh, the world's oldest known peace treaty. This clay tablet, found in Hattusha, includes provisions for the treatment of refugees. The treaty was established around 1269 BC between Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II and Hittite King Hattusili III to end a long-standing conflict. The fragment highlights the importance of protecting human dignity and life, as it outlines that refugees should not be harmed or punished.
