Ce s-ar întâmpla dacă ai lua ciumă astăzi? Colegiul Medicilor din România explică

Plague, historically known as the "Black Death," is still present but is no longer the threat it once was. The Romanian College of Physicians emphasizes that the disease can be effectively treated with antibiotics if diagnosed and treated promptly. Caused by the Yersinia pestis bacterium, plague is a zoonotic infection primarily transmitted through infected flea bites. There are three main forms: bubonic, septicemic, and pneumonic, with the latter being particularly dangerous due to its potential for human-to-human transmission. While plague remains endemic in certain regions, modern medicine's advancements allow for effective treatment, reducing the risk of severe outcomes. The College aims to provide clear medical information to the public regarding such diseases.
