In the first nine months of 2026, Romania's M&A market saw a slight decline in transaction volume but a significant increase in value, reaching $7.1 billion. The top three deals accounted for about 60% of the total communicated value. Despite a decrease in the number of transactions globally and in Europe, Romania's inbound acquisitions rose by 13%. The real estate sector remained the most active, while the healthcare sector experienced a slowdown. The USA led in investor origin, followed by France and Austria.
