In June 2026, the non-government credit balance increased by 1.9% compared to the previous month, reaching 473.683 billion lei. The National Bank of Romania reported that lei-denominated credit rose by 1.7%, while foreign currency credit increased by 2.1%. Year-on-year, non-government credit grew by 8.4%, driven by a 3.9% rise in lei credit and an 18.9% increase in foreign currency credit. Government credit decreased by 1.4% from the previous month but rose by 10% compared to June 2025. The broad money supply (M3) stood at 803.868 billion lei, down 0.3% from May 2026 but up 7.8% year-on-year.
