The CDC plans to form a group of individuals who were children or adolescents at the time, to investigate various health outcomes, including respiratory health, mental health, and chronic diseases. The study aims to determine if early exposure to contaminants is linked to later health problems. Funding for the research has been approved, with an estimated budget of $50 million, and the project is set to begin in July 2027. Recruitment may be challenging due to the dispersed population of affected individuals.
