She confirmed that numerous expense claims were made without proper approval and that an investigation is underway. Mateescu has filed a complaint with the economic crime investigation section and emphasized the establishment of a commission to recover losses. She stated that the individuals responsible for the purchases are no longer employed by ANM and denied any personal involvement in the scandal. The former Environment Minister, Diana Buzoianu, had previously revealed these irregularities, prompting calls for Mateescu's resignation, which she has refused.
