Romania is proposing two railway projects worth 110 million euros for European funding to enhance the Black Sea - Aegean Sea corridor in cooperation with Greece and Bulgaria. The projects involve modernizing over 76 kilometers of railway and are set for submission by October 6, 2026. The first project focuses on the Segarcea - Calafat section, while the second targets the Ulmeni - Buzău section. The Ministry of Transport is coordinating the efforts and facilitating collaboration among the three countries. Weekly meetings are held to discuss the projects' administrative, technical, and financial aspects, aiming to improve transport connectivity and resilience in Southeast Europe.
