A temporary 20% reduction in excise duty on standard diesel has been implemented in Alba Iulia, leading to lower pump prices. The measure, effective from August 16 to 31, aims to alleviate the impact of rising international prices. Current diesel prices at local stations range from 9.99 to 10.05 lei per liter. This reduction is expected to save drivers approximately 68 bani per liter, translating to around 34 lei for a full tank. Transporters and farmers could see significant annual savings. The Ministry of Finance will reassess the situation in two weeks to adjust the excise if necessary.
