Ce poate face insomnia cronică organismului. Studiile indică riscuri pentru creier și sănătatea mintală
Chronic insomnia may indicate an increased risk for serious health issues, including stroke, dementia, depression, and suicidal behavior. A comprehensive analysis of existing research involving over 1.3 million participants found these associations, but experts caution that the results do not prove that lack of sleep directly causes these conditions. The study published in "Sleep Medicine Reviews" revealed a 26% higher risk of stroke and a 28% greater likelihood of hospitalization among those with insomnia. However, the analysis also noted that the association weakened when considering sleep medication use. Insomnia is treatable, with cognitive-behavioral therapy and medication as potential interventions.
