Ce poate dezvălui o simplă fotografie a feței despre riscul de deces. Descoperirea cercetătorilor la pacienții cu cancer

Researchers at Mass General Brigham have developed an AI system that estimates biological age and death risk from a single facial photograph of cancer patients. Published in The Lancet Digital Health, the study shows significant survival differences among patients based on AI assessments. The algorithm, trained on over 40 million images, identifies features linked to aging and mortality risk. Results indicate that patients categorized as high risk had a mortality rate over three times higher than those deemed low risk. While promising, the technology is still in research and not ready for clinical use. Experts caution that the AI's predictions do not replace medical evaluations and may reflect existing healthcare disparities.
