The Mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, proposed a rationalization of public transport routes and a more substantial subsidy contribution from Ilfov mayors. During a meeting, he highlighted the need for reorganizing the Intercommunity Development Association for Public Transport Bucharest-Ilfov (ADITBI) due to high costs and excessive staffing. Ciucu pointed out that Bucharest subsidizes Ilfov transport with around 250 million lei annually, questioning the justification of ADITBI's annual expenses of 26 million lei. He suggested reducing the number of employees and transferring control staff from STB to ADITBI. Ciucu also advocated for reevaluating transport routes to avoid redundancy and proposed lowering Bucharest's subsidy percentage to prevent financial strain. He criticized the management of STB, citing significant debts and poor investment decisions, and called for external intervention to restructure the company.
