Ce înseamnă pentru economia României giganții Dacia și Ford
Romania faces energy system pressure due to the controlled shutdown of Unit 1 at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant, with potential impacts from Unit 2. In response, Dacia and Ford have halted production until August 19, reducing electricity consumption by about 200 MW. This coincides with scheduled maintenance and vacation periods. The government is implementing unprecedented measures to limit electricity use among large industrial consumers, as the energy system struggles with reduced output and high import needs. Dacia and Ford are significant contributors to Romania's economy, producing over 545,000 vehicles in 2025 and employing over 17,000 people, while also generating substantial export and GDP contributions.
