Candidate Sonia Deaconescu highlighted the detrimental effects of media scrutiny on judges and defendants, advocating for legislative limits on public commentary regarding ongoing cases. Savonea's concerns were also reflected in a CSM resolution that created a 'blacklist' of critical journalists and organizations, which was shared with European institutions.
