The Royad Mammadov, a Turkish cargo ship, was struck by a drone near the Pescăruș oil platform, resulting in two fatalities and injuries to eleven crew members. Pescăruș is an offshore oil and gas extraction platform operated by OMV Petrom, located about 20 nautical miles from Romania's coast. Discovered in 1999, it was a significant find in the Black Sea continental shelf. OMV Petrom has been contacted for further comments.
