Ce este „hang-xiety”. Specialiștii explică legătura dintre alcool, somn și anxietatea de a doua zi

After a night of drinking, individuals may experience not only hangovers but also significant anxiety, known as "hang-xiety." This phenomenon arises from biological and psychological factors, as alcohol affects brain chemistry, sleep, and hormones. The balance between GABA and glutamate in the brain is disrupted, leading to heightened alertness and anxiety once the alcohol wears off. A study found that 18.3% of participants reported anxiety symptoms when hungover. Personal traits and genetics may influence this response. Alcohol can disrupt REM sleep, further impairing emotional regulation. To mitigate risks, limiting alcohol intake and staying hydrated are recommended. Recognizing that post-drinking anxiety is often temporary can help individuals cope better.
