The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee acknowledges the decision of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) regarding the participation of young athletes from Russia and Belarus in the 2027 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Brașov. The EOC reaffirmed its commitment to allow all young athletes to participate, regardless of nationality, while ensuring that Russian and Belarusian athletes compete under their respective Olympic committees' names. They will also compete under the EOC flag, with the Olympic anthem played during award ceremonies. The focus remains on providing a safe and fair environment for all participants, emphasizing Olympic values. Preparations for the 2027 events are progressing well, as reported during the EOC Executive Committee meeting in Split.
