Many travelers face unexpected costs, such as unfavorable currency exchange rates and unplanned medical expenses. The study highlights that 30% of respondents incurred out-of-pocket medical costs, while 10% faced unplanned roadside assistance fees. Younger travelers tend to use online currency exchange and card payments more frequently, while older generations prefer direct card payments. Additionally, one in five Romanians has never purchased travel insurance, often due to a low perception of risk. The findings suggest a need for better financial planning among travelers.
