This agreement follows tensions related to President Trump's comments on Greenland. It allows the U.S. to expand its military presence, including establishing two new bases in Greenland and extending the existing Pituffik space base. The deal also supports NATO's stronger presence in the Arctic and respects Greenland's right to self-determination. Additionally, it imposes restrictions on non-NATO and non-EU investors in sensitive sectors. The agreement requires parliamentary approval before taking effect.
