Ce a solicitat România în cadrul Grupului de Lucru Electricitate al Comisiei Europene: Cristian Bușoi: Închiderea grupului Turceni 5, „extrem de problematică în situația actuală”

Cristian Bușoi, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Energy, called for discussions on support for Romania amid energy challenges. He emphasized the problematic nature of closing coal and lignite power plants under current conditions. Bușoi participated in a European Commission meeting, addressing the closure of Cernavodă's Unit 2 due to low Danube water levels. Romania is in an energy alert state following significant production reductions. The government is working on measures to limit energy consumption and has activated an early warning mechanism. Bușoi requested an updated regional assessment from the European Commission regarding production capacities and cross-border support. He also highlighted the need for urgent assistance mechanisms and discussions on the continuation of certain power units beyond the August deadline.
