CCR schimbă regula pentru funcționari. Interdicția de a candida la alegeri a fost declarată neconstituțională • Newsweek România

The Constitutional Court has ruled that restrictions preventing certain public officials from running for political office are unconstitutional. This decision affirms the fundamental right to be elected, allowing public servants to participate in elections without automatic disqualification. Previously, many public employees faced the dilemma of having to suspend or lose their jobs to run for office. The ruling promotes equal political rights for public officials, although it does not change post-election incompatibilities. If a public servant wins a political position, they must choose between that role and their administrative job. Parliament and the Government have 45 days to amend the Administrative Code accordingly.
