CCR: Românii nu pot cere majorări de salarii prin lege
The Romanian Constitutional Court ruled that citizens cannot initiate laws through Parliament that would significantly increase public spending. This includes not only taxes but also salary increases and benefits. The decision came after a proposal from education unions for salary raises and other benefits was submitted. The Court emphasized that citizens cannot assess the financial impact of such measures. The ruling clarifies that certain areas, including fiscal issues, are excluded from citizen-initiated legislation. The unions argued that budget cuts would harm education and employee status in the long term.
