CCR, așteptată să decidă azi soarta programului SAFE de miliarde de euro

The Romanian Constitutional Court is set to discuss a challenge regarding the SAFE program, initiated by the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu. He argues that the interim government exceeded its constitutional authority by adopting an emergency ordinance after being dismissed. The SAFE program, which has a budget of €16.7 billion for defense, is at risk if the court rules in favor of Grindeanu's challenge. Currently, contracts worth over €9 billion have been signed, but the legality of the government's actions could jeopardize these agreements. If the court accepts the challenge, it may invalidate the emergency ordinance, affecting the state's ability to expropriate strategic assets necessary for military projects.
