Cazul Târgul de Carte de la Frankfurt: Revoltă în cultura română la adresa ministrului. „Am rămas cu un nesfârșit sentiment de tristețe”

The Romanian literary community is expressing outrage over the decision by Culture Minister Andras Demeter to assign the management of Romania's participation as the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2028 to the Office of Film and Cultural Investments (OFIC). Prominent figures like Lidia Bodea and Andrei Pleșu have voiced concerns that this move undermines the seriousness and preparation needed for such an important cultural event. A petition has been initiated, urging the minister to reconsider this decision and to demonstrate OFIC's qualifications in promoting literature. Experts emphasize the importance of early and systematic planning for the fair, highlighting that Romania risks missing a significant opportunity to showcase its literary culture.
