Caz de sclavie în Covasna: persoane vulnerabile, sechestrate și obligate să muncească. Victimele, „scoase la vânzare” cu 3.000 de euro
A woman and four men from the same family were arrested for modern slavery in Covasna, accused of exploiting vulnerable individuals. They allegedly recruited homeless or indebted people, forced them to work without pay, and intended to sell them for up to €3,000. The group operated from March 2025 to August 2026, conducting illegal activities in Romania and Germany. Victims were deceived, deprived of identification, and subjected to harsh working conditions. The female leader coordinated the exploitation and committed fraud. Following police raids, evidence was collected, and luxury cars were seized. The suspects are now in preventive detention for 30 days.
