Cauza de fond a destrămării coaliției și a reformelor incomplete (Op-ed)
After the 2025 presidential elections, the ruling coalition implemented an economic program that reduced the budget deficit but relied heavily on tax increases rather than structural reforms. While some reforms were achieved, many remain incomplete, including public sector salary reform and state-owned enterprise restructuring. The political landscape has shifted towards illiberal nationalism, surprising many observers. This shift mirrors trends seen in Poland and Hungary, where similar political movements gained traction. The ruling coalition faces challenges in maintaining its dominance amid rising illiberal sentiments, complicating efforts to address budgetary issues and implement necessary reforms.
